My off-road story started in 1965, riding the sand dunes with my parents. My dad eventually started building his own sand rails, for us and our friends in the early years I was the shops tire groomer and Dad got the biggest kick out of watching me run sand drags and take on hill climbs. That’s where my love of driving, building, and pushing machines really took off.

Later, when Boyd Coddington and I got together, my world shifted into Hot Rods—full throttle. Off-roading took a backseat while we focused on the shop, the builds, the shows. Boyd even hopped on my son’s dirt bike at the track now and then, but we were all-in on Hot Rod life.

Still, off-roading never left me. That’s why Boyd built the Salt Flat car and invited me to drive it—not one of the guys in the shop. He was doing it completely for me.

Coddington Speed Shop is where it all comes full circle—combining decades of hands-on experience with a return to my off-road roots. I carry Jeep suspension kits, performance shocks for Charger, Challenger, and Mustang, plus C10 shocks and bedliners—all parts I trust because I’ve lived both sides of this industry.
